EVERY SINGLE BIT MATTERS (PART II)

Part I is in my previous post

My second attempt wasn't a massive success either: 64/120. However, it made me a bit relieved because I saw progress, and it was enough to be admitted to a University in Czech Republic. But to get into RSM, I was still 16 points short.

Get ready! The exciting part starts now! 😀 My third attempt was in early 2010. My last high school year. I still had around five-six months to submit my papers to RSM, so all good. This time I got 79/120 (to remind you, the minimum required score was 80). Just 1 point short! Just one damn point!! It hurt, but I was still motivated, and 79 meant that there was progress. It was also enough to be admitted at a few other Universities in Europe. However, my goal was Rotterdam. We even sent an e-mail to the RSM Admissions Office to ask if maybe 79 would be enough, but they said "No!" 🤷🏽‍♂️

Here comes the fourth attempt. RSM had all the documents but one: my TOEFL score. The exam was in April, a couple of months away from the documents submission deadline. So how much do you think I scored this time? 85? 90? 70? Nope! 79! AGAIN 79!! Again just 1 point short... The faces at home were the same as when I got 56/120...

I was exhausted, my parents as well... They tried to cheer me up, but their faces were unhappy. But then my dad said:

"You know what? Let's have one more try in a few weeks. But this time don't go to any tutor. You have all the books you need. You can study yourself if you want to. Up to you. But don't worry much this time. You are already admitted to other Universities. Get some rest and do your best."

His words were a real weight off my shoulders. I went on registering for my 5th and last attempt.

To be continued...

P.S. Photo caption: Dad told me to get some rest, well I tried 🤣
