NOT YOUR ORDINARY CLUB

My first night in Jamaica. I checked in @reggaehostel, dropped my stuff, and went to the backyard to meet people. They were from different countries, diverse backgrounds, but the same goal - to relax in Jamaica. We were telling stories, sharing experiences and discussing travel plans. One of the guys said that he knew a club not far away and suggested to go there. Sure, why not?⁣

In 10 mins we were out of the hostel walking down the street. Not long after we heard music and a friend of ours said that it was the place. Nice! Not far from our hostel! No need to worry about how to get home after. ⁣

At the entrance, we saw a guy dressed all in black, with a cap, and wearing sunglasses (it was 11 pm if you wonder). We asked him if that was a club and if we were at the right place. He nodded. Great! We paid the entrance fee, around $5, and got ready to rock the dancefloor. The club looked like a backyard of someone's house with dimmed lights, benches, and not many people.⁣

As always, I started convincing people to dance. They hesitated, so I started dancing on my own, but 30 seconds in I stopped. I looked around. Something was not right. It bugged me that there were only a few men, but many ladies and the majority were sitting on guys' laps. After looking closely, I saw that the ladies were half-naked. Guess what I saw next? A dance pole right in the middle of the dancefloor! It was a backyard strip club. My friends also had their aha moment at the same time 😀 We laughed and decided to leave.⁣

As we were not interested in strippers, we wanted to get our money back. The guy at the entrance was clearly high and didn't want to return the money. In the end, after a lot of talking, we got our money back, even though the "security" dude wasn't excited about it. ⁣

We walked back to the @reggaehostel and continued chilling in the backyard. ⁣

Yeah, I couldn't have imagined ending up at a strip club on my first night in Jamaica 😀 Life can be very unpredictable 😀⁣
